"Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for
many diseases".
Hippocrates (Famous Greek physician 460 to 357 B.C.)
On the importance of manual manipulation
What is a Subluxation?
A subluxation is a misalignment of one or more of the movable segments of your spine that puts pressure on a spinal nerve or the spinal cord resulting in distorted communications between your brain and body. Distorted nerve communications can be an underlying cause of many health problems beyond just headaches and back pain.
Imagine a misaligned spinal segment putting pressure on the nerves that go to your adrenal glands causing them to continually release cortisol. Left untreated this constant borage of cortisol can lead to high blood pressure, increase heat rate, stomach ulcers, decrease white blood cell count and decreased immune function which increases your chance of infection. Over time your adrenal glands will become weak and unable to keep up with the demands placed on them resulting in poor production of this vital hormone adding such symptoms to the mix as fatigue, muscle aches and pains and low blood sugar.
Crazy right???
Remember, your nervous system (brain and spinal cord) controls and coordinates every function of your cells, tissues and organs so having a spine free of subluxations is essential for optimal health.
So, how do you get subluxations?
STRESS and your body's inability to adapt to the stress.
I know what you are saying … “I live in Puerto Vallarta I am STRESS FREE.”
But if I break down STRESS into its three components you may have a better understanding.

I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.
When your body can no longer adapt to the stresses of everyday life, your muscles tighten/spasm, pulling spinal segments out of proper alignment, reducing normal function leading to the distorted nerve signals explained earlier.
Only a chiropractic examination can locate and detect subluxations and only chiropractic adjustments can reduce their effect to your nervous system, naturally.
