Hi folks, my name is Erik Fulfer, DC. As an American, board certified Chiropractor who graduated from one of the largest chiropractic schools in the U.S. I am excited to bring my years of experience to the friends and families of Puerto Vallarta. I am honored that you have spent your valuable time on my site. In the next few paragraphs I will try to give you an understanding of who I am.
I was raised in the Gulf Coast city of Tampa, Florida and was introduced to Chiropractic by my Grandfather who graduated Chiropractic School after serving in WW II. He was an extremely caring man whose patients seemed to flock to for a wide variety of ailments. I can remember like it was yesterday visiting on the weekends and the first thing he would say is "jump up on the table it's time for your adjustment."
It wasn't until I was involved in a violent car crash and brought back to health by a local chiropractor without the use of drugs or surgery that I realized this is the path I wanted to take. I was amazed that I literally crawled into his office and three weeks later I was on the track able to run without pain.
I decided to follow my Grandfather's footsteps and joined the U.S. Army. I served my country proudly for 4 years in the ranks of the 82nd Airborne Division, 508th Airborne Battalion (Panama) and as a door gunner for a Black hawk squadron in Honduras.
In November 1994 I received an honorable discharge, from the U.S. Army and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to complete my undergraduate studies. After successfully completing the science laden undergraduate program I enrolled in Life University's School of Chiropractic, located in Marietta, GA.
The year 2000 was an exciting year for me. I not only graduated from Life University receiving a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I went on to successfully pass all 4 parts of the national boards (similar to the Bar exam for lawyers) and began practicing in a private setting as an Associate Doctor in a 22 year old practice.
This was also the year that I asked my Father-in-Law for his daughter's hand in marriage. I proposed to my beautiful wife Michelle, the one who introduced me to Mexico, it's people and culture at my graduation party in front of her family, my family and our friends and decided there couldn't be a better place to marry than Mexico.
September 2000 arrived quickly but the months of planning payed off tremendously. 95 of our closest friends and relatives descended upon Puerto Vallarta and the Camino Real Resort (Now Dreams) for a 7 day wedding celebration.
On September 9th Michelle and I were wed at the Cathedral Guadalupe with a reception in true Mexican fashion following. We all knew we were in for a treat the moment the 13 piece Mariachi band entered and the tequila bottles were opened at each table. It was an amazing time and we along with our guests fell in love with Puerto Vallarta, its terrain and its people. We vowed to one day make Mexico our home.
Well, ten years later, that dream has become a reality. With the urging of Michelle's brother we along with our daughter Sofia and two dogs, Cooper and Bruiser, in tow hitched a trailer to our Toyota 4-Runner and set off for paradise.
We are happy to be a part of this vibrant community and I am excited to get as many of you well with the use of all natural chiropractic care.
